User's Guide BATTLOG (Battery Voltage Logger/Viewer) Version 1.4 (superseding Version 1.2) [1] What is BATTLOG? BATTLOG is a combination of two programs, BATTLOG.COM and BATTLOG.EXM. BATTLOG.COM is a DOS TSR program, which monitors the voltage of the two battery sets of the HP 200LX and records it in a log file at 5 minute interval. (Measurement is done at 10 second interval and the average, minimum and maximum of 30 readings - 5 minutes worth - are calculated and written to C:\BATTLOG.LOG) BATTLOG.EXM is a system manager compliant program for viewing of this log file in graphic presentation.

BATTLOG
This is the long awaited update to GAOGAO's nice battery logging program and it has lots of new features. Battlog is an EXM program that lets you keep an accurate track on your palmtop's batteries. A small TSR is included which loads from AUTOEXEC.BAT and writes battery voltage to a file at specified intervals. The EXM formats this data file and presents it as a graph. Shareware.

BIOS Message Killer
This BIOS Message Killer allows you to short-circuit the BIOS messages for battery low, card battery low, battery error, battery very low, backup battery low and the charging messages. You can also turn the palmtop on and off during charging so that you can swap PCMCIA cards. Copyrighted freeware.

At the time of this writing, there is no charge for this service. To use this data effectively on the HP Palmtops, an import filter is required to get the data into the HPLX Database format. SWLX serves this need. The author of SWLX grants permission to use this software for non-commercial purposes without charge. Warning ILGRadio has invested time and energy to gather the information available in their database.

Testbatt
I have been trying out the new Duracell batteries designed for high drain devices. Hal Goldstein from the Palmtop Paper was kind enough to send me some to try. I have run two sets of them through my palmtop. I also did two sets of Lithium batteries and one set of standard alkalines. I used each set until the palmtop's low battery warning went off. I monitored these trials with a program called Battlog. This program makes a graph of battery voltage vs. time. I have captured these graphs as *.pcx files and uploaded these pcx files to the library as a self-extracting archive called TESTBATT.EXE.
