How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 55.1 KB

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

  • TYME.COM → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 63.5 KB

No need to put TYME.HLP, TYME.DOC, TIMELBL.XXX, TIMECLI.XXX, README.TXT: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 55.1 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy TYME.COM to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

The author's instructions
The setup screen allows you to change the initials of the user, thereby ä
getting access to another set of time data. Usually you will only use the ä
default initials, but this is not required. Use this screen to change them. ä
It is useful to know that these initials are the file extension for all of ä
a user's data files, including the client file (TIMECLI) and billing code file ä
(TIMELBL). At the very least, you must have each of these two files with ä
the proper initials for every user (dataset). The program will die unless ä
the TIMECLI.XXX and TIMELBL.XXX exist. ä
The setup screen also allows you to make changes to the default date. This is ä
the date where you will start entering data on the timetable function. ä
Changing this is required only if you wish to add some time data to a month ä
other than the current one. But it may be convenient to change the date for ä
other reasons. After you have specified the desired date, you automatically ä
return to the MAIN MENU. ä
The BANNER function will display the Banner Screen (briefly). à
This module calls a Phone list program which is not included in the demo. å
This is the normal way to terminate the program and return to the DOS prompt. ç
You should always quit the program using the EXIT command, because there are ç
some files which may be corrupted if, for instance you were to re-boot the ç
computer while the program is still running. Normally, if the program is just ç
sitting there, the worst that could happen is that the data since your last ç
EXIT is lost, but the best practice is to use the EXIT command. ç

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
