No need to put MAC.F05, SQN.CNF, SQN.HLP, README.1ST, MAC.F01, MAC.F02, MAC.F03, SQNOTE35.SQN and 5 more: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 412.5 KB on a 1 MB disk.

1. Copy SQN.EXE, SETUPD.BAT, SETUPC.BAT, SETUPA.BAT to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

To setup SquareNote on your C: drive, use "setupc".
		To setup SquareNote on your D: drive, use "setupd".
		To setup SquareNote on your E: drive, use "setupe".
We will assume, in what follows, that you have decided to setup SquareNote
on your C: drive.

	Enter "setupc" and press [Enter].  This will set up SquareNote3.5 on your C: drive under the directory, "C:\SQN35".  It will also change the directory prompt to C:\SQN35.  Do this now.

	The DOS prompt will now be at C:\SQN35.  If it isn't, move it there by entering at the DOS prompt, "cd\sqn35a" and press [Enter].  Enter "sqn"
and press [Enter].

		A screen will appear announcing SquareNote3.5, and suggesting
at the bottom of the screen that you press "R" to resume with notefile
SQNOTE35.  Press [R].

		A screen will now appear -- the Main Menu Screen -- showing
five notes stacked on the screen.  This is the notefile, SQNOTE35.SQN,
the User Reference Manual.  If you simply read through this notefile,
screen by screen, it will take you no longer than 30-60 minutes, and
you will be ready to use and enjoy SquareNote.

	Using SquareNote under Windows, and/or under DOS6.x, there are certain things you can do to speed up operations.
