GP.HLP, EPPPD.TXT, FAQ.TXT, RED.DOC, README.1ST, CSERVE.SCR, PPPD.MAN, SETUP.TXT and 3 more:
they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 205.4 KB on a 1 MB disk.
Steps
- Copy EPPPD.EXE, GP.BAT, RED.COM, GPTCP.EXE to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.
- The .ICN files are icons: they go in the same folder as their application.
Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.
The author's instructions
your setup *UNLESS* you've put your own changes into GP.BAT. If you *did* put custom changes into GP.BAT, save it to a different name then edit the GP.BAT from this release and add your changes to it. Don't use the GP.BAT from an earlier release as it may have changed (especially if you currently have version 2). Viewing Attachments GP version 4 and up supports external viewers for attachments. Attachment viewers are defined in Menu/Options/Setup/Viewers. There is a GP.VWR file in the LOOKHERE directory which you may copy to the GP directory and use. This sets GP to use LXPIC (Stephan Peichl) for images, VIEW (Malcolm Drury) for word processing documents, and PKUNZIP (PKWare) for ZIP archives. Also copy the HPVIEW.BAT file from LOOKHERE, this sets zoom mode before invoking VIEW (requires HPZOOM). If you have registered GP, you should enable "Swap To Disk?" in the Registration screen if you intend to use VIEW, as it requires quite a bit of memory. VIEW may not operate under the limited DOS memory available while running under the System Manager. Setup A step-by-step explanation of the setup process is in SETUP.TXT, please read it! The complete user guide is in MANUAL.PDF. If You Run From System Manager It's VERY IMPORTANT that you set up an icon with the following attributes, do not use the DOS shell! Name: &GP Path: C:\GP\GP.BAT|300 Comments: !? (INVERT THEM, press FnFiler and Fn3 for inverted versions) IMPORTANT: I can tell you for certain, if you don't put the inverted exclamation mark in the comment field your connection WILL hang and generally act very badly, as if your modem isn't talking on the phone well. Performance Improvement Once you have Goin' Postal installed, you might be able to improve the performance as follows:

Send to my palmtop
The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
Your browser cannot talk to the serial port. Direct sending uses the Web Serial API, which only exists in Chrome, Edge and Opera on desktop — not in Firefox, Safari or any mobile browser.
Download the file with the button above and copy it to the palmtop your usual way.
