How to install it
What to send to the palmtop saves 3.9 KB
These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.
-
CLIPVUE.EXM→ A:\SOFT aplicación del System Manager 5.4 KB -
CLIPVUE.ICN→ A:\SOFT icono, junto a su aplicación 200 B
No need to put
CLIPVUE.DOC:
they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 3.9 KB on a 1 MB disk.
Steps
- Copy CLIPVUE.EXM to A:\SOFT. It is a System Manager application: register it in App Manager with F2 (Add), giving the full path (for example A:\SOFT\CLIPVUE.EXM).
- The 200LX takes 8 EXM applications at most. Check with F8 (List) in App Manager: an asterisk in the Status column means the quota is full and you will need MoreEXM.
- The .ICN files are icons: they go in the same folder as their application.
Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.
The author's instructions
Installation
The following files are part of the ClipVue distribution archive:
CLIPVUE.EXM : the program itself
CLIPVUE.ICN : an icon for AppMgr installation
CLIPVUE.DOC : this file
To install ClipVue, copy the above files to the palmtop using the
connectivity pack, Eric Meyers ZIP, a terminal program, KERMIT or
other suitable means. (Refer to your documentation for instructions
on how to tranfer files to your palmtop. You may leave out
CLIPVUE.DOC and even CLIPVUE.ICN if you lack room)
Then, start AppMgr (hit the [&..] key) and press [F2] to add a new
application. For ex., if you have copied CLIPVUE.EXM to the directory
C:\UTILS\CLIPVUE, here's how you would fill out the dialog that
follows:
Name: ClipVue
Path: c:\utils\clipvue\clipvue.exm
Press return until the clipboard icon appears in the 'Icon:' field.
Now press [F10] and select the key that you want to assign to ClipVue.
(For example, ALT-MEMO). This terminates ClipVue installation.
A sample run
Launch ClipVue by either hitting its hot-key, or selecting its entry
in the AppMgr screen. ClipVue will display whatever text was in the
clipboard. If there was nothing, it will say so. Switch to PHONE, and hit
[Fn][Copy] on a Phone entry.
Switch back to ClipVue - it will display the new clipboard contents.
Now hit [F3]. ClipVue will beep twice, indicating successful loading
of the interface file. The file that gets created is
C:\_DAT\CLIPVUE.TXT. (You can verify its contents in filer)
ClipVue keys
[F1]: Displays a small help screen. ClipVue starts out in this mode.
[F2]: Saves the clipboard contents to C:\_DAT\CLIPVUE.TXT, to be read
by a DOS application that cannot access the SysMgr clipboard.

Send to my palmtop
The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
Your browser cannot talk to the serial port. Direct sending uses the Web Serial API, which only exists in Chrome, Edge and Opera on desktop — not in Firefox, Safari or any mobile browser.
Download the file with the button above and copy it to the palmtop your usual way.
