How to install it
What to send to the palmtop saves 21.4 KB
These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.
-
VCLOCK.EXM→ A:\SOFT aplicación del System Manager 32.6 KB -
VCLOCK.ICN→ A:\SOFT icono, junto a su aplicación 200 B -
VCLOCK.CFG→ A:\_DAT configuración 1.5 KB
No need to put
README.1ST, VCLOCK.TXT:
they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 21.4 KB on a 1 MB disk.
Steps
- Copy VCLOCK.EXM to A:\SOFT. It is a System Manager application: register it in App Manager with F2 (Add), giving the full path (for example A:\SOFT\VCLOCK.EXM).
- The 200LX takes 8 EXM applications at most. Check with F8 (List) in App Manager: an asterisk in the Status column means the quota is full and you will need MoreEXM.
- Copy VCLOCK.CFG to A:\_DAT, where the 200LX looks for configuration. Open it with Memo and adjust it before use.
- If you edit a configuration file on the palmtop, make sure you leave a newline at the end: some programs swallow the last line without saying a word.
- The .ICN files are icons: they go in the same folder as their application.
Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

subdirectory:

This file is optional, and only needed if you want to define
custom chime sounds.
--- Step 2: Define VClock to Application Manager ---
Open Application Manager by pressing the [&...] key. Press F2
(Add), and enter the following values:
Name: Visible Clock
Path: (drive):\(subdirectory)\vclock.exm
Comments:
In the Path field, (drive) and (subdirectory) should be replaced
with the drive letter (a or c) and the subdirectory to which you
copied the VClock files.
Now tab to the Icon field, and the VClock icon should appear.
If it does not, press the down-arrow key until you see the
VClock icon.
Press F10 (OK).
Now press the key-combination you want to use as the hot-key for
VClock (I use Alt+APPT; if you want to use something else, the
dialog which is displayed at this point shows you what your
options are).
--- Step 3: Start VClock ---
Back at the Application Manager screen, highlight the VClock
icon and press Enter. To end VClock, press MENU, Q.
--- Step 4: Registering VClock ----
VClock requires registration data before all of the functions
are available: an unregistered copy of VClock does not allow
selection of stopwatch or timer modes. In order to register a
copy of VClock, you must have a registration ID. Instructions
for obtaining a registration ID given at the end of this file.

Send to my palmtop
The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
Your browser cannot talk to the serial port. Direct sending uses the Web Serial API, which only exists in Chrome, Edge and Opera on desktop — not in Firefox, Safari or any mobile browser.
Download the file with the button above and copy it to the palmtop your usual way.
