How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 85.2 KB

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

  • TODDY.COM → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 20.3 KB

No need to put FILE_ID.DIZ, TODDY.DOC: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 85.2 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy TODDY.COM to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

The manual mentions these files, which are in the archive:

The author's instructions
installation. When entering a DOS command, use the right and
left arrow keys to move the cursor non-destructively. Past
commands can be retrieved by pressing the up and down arrow keys,
or by typing a few letters and searching for a matching command
with the Tab key. You can quickly enter the name of an existing
file by typing part of the name and pressing F9 until the entire
name is displayed. The standard DOS editing keys (F1 to F6) may
        also be used.

In the next table and throughout the rest of this document, a
"Ctrl-" to the immediate left of a keystroke or letter refers to
that keystroke being pressed while the CONTROL key is held down.
Similarly, an "Alt-" next to a keystroke refers to the keystroke
being pressed while the ALT key is held down. A complete list of
        editing commands follows:

          Left move cursor left
          Right move cursor right
Home move cursor to first column
End move cursor to last column
Ctrl-Left move cursor to previous word
Ctrl-Right move cursor to next word

Delete delete character under the cursor
Backspace delete character to the left of the cursor
Ctrl-Backspace delete word to the left of the cursor
Ctrl-Home delete all characters left of the cursor
Ctrl-End delete all characters right of the cursor
Escape delete all characters on the line

          Up load older history line
          PgUp load oldest history line
          Down load newer history line

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
