How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 6.5 KB

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

  • ZBACK.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 1.1 KB
  • ZDIR.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 65 B
  • ZEDIT.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 888 B
  • ZPR.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 675 B
  • KEDIT.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 1.1 KB
  • BLDZCMD.EXE → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 11.5 KB
  • ZCMD.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 15 B
  • KDIR.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 305 B
  • KBACK.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 16 B
  • KPUT.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 396 B
  • KPR.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 841 B
  • K95.INI → A:\_DAT configuración 2.9 KB
  • K95CUSTO.INI → A:\_DAT configuración 1.1 KB
  • KGET.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 502 B
  • KCD.BAT → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 290 B
  • MSKERMIT.INI → A:\_DAT configuración 12.7 KB
  • MSCUSTOM.INI → A:\_DAT configuración 1.2 KB

No need to put PRINT_Q.MAC, PRINT_Q.TXT, BLDZCMD.C, BACKUP.KSC: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 6.5 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy ZBACK.BAT, ZDIR.BAT, ZEDIT.BAT, ZPR.BAT to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.
  2. Copy K95.INI, K95CUSTO.INI, MSKERMIT.INI, MSCUSTOM.INI to A:\_DAT, where the 200LX looks for configuration. Open it with Memo and adjust it before use.
  3. If you edit a configuration file on the palmtop, make sure you leave a newline at the end: some programs swallow the last line without saying a word.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
