How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 9.2 KB

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

  • IRPRINT.EXM → A:\SOFT aplicación del System Manager 18.9 KB

No need to put IRPRINT.CNF, IRPRINT.DOC: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 9.2 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy IRPRINT.EXM to A:\SOFT. It is a System Manager application: register it in App Manager with F2 (Add), giving the full path (for example A:\SOFT\IRPRINT.EXM).
  2. The 200LX takes 8 EXM applications at most. Check with F8 (List) in App Manager: an asterisk in the Status column means the quota is full and you will need MoreEXM.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

The author's instructions
| Installation |

Copy irprint.exm anywhere on your HP palmtop. Copy
irprint.cnf to the c:\_dat directory. On the HP 95LX,
you then have to edit apname.lst to assign a hotkey
for irprint. On the HP 100LX, launch the Application
Manager with the blue [&...] key, add an entry for
IR-Print and assign a hotkey.

You must reboot whenever you add applications or edit
apname.lst to make the changes effective.

| Using IR-Print |

First, turn on your "Redeye" printer and align the
infrared receiver of the printer with the infrared diode
on the HP palmtop.

Then copy something into the clipboard by either using
Mark and Cut/Copy on the 95LX, or Fn-Cut/Copy or
SmartClip on the 100LX. Press the hotkey you have assigned
to IR-Print, and then F4 to print the contents of the
clipboard.

This was the quick start. Now let's have a closer look at
the Menus and function keys.

[Menu] brings up a menu at the top of the display with
several options. You can choose by either moving
the highlight to the desired option and pressing
[Enter], or by pressing the first letter of the
       desired option.

       ■ File - displays a file list where you can pick a
file which is then immediately printed.
See "Configuring IR-Print" on how to set
up a default directory and file mask.

       ■ About - displays copyright information.

       ■ Quit - exits from IR-Print. You can also use the
[F10], [Esc] or [Q] key to exit when the
main display is shown and no print is in
                 progress.

[F1] displays a short help screen where the most important
       functions are described briefly.

[F2] toggles between formatting options. Three options
       are available:

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
