Hangman for LX

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

• HANGMAN.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 3.6 KB
• HANGMAN.EXE → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 53.7 KB
• HANGMAN.ICN → A:\SOFT icono, junto a su aplicación 200 B

No need to put HANGMAN.DOC: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 3.2 KB on a 1 MB disk.

1. Copy HANGMAN.EXE to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.
2. Copy HANGMAN.DAT to A:\_DAT, where the 200LX looks for configuration. Open it with Memo and adjust it before use.
3. If you edit a configuration file on the palmtop, make sure you leave a newline at the end: some programs swallow the last line without saying a word.
4. The .ICN files are icons: they go in the same folder as their application.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

Installing Hangman

Simply unzip HANGMAN.ZIP and place both the .EXE and .DAT files in the same
directory.



Playing Hangman

If you're starting HANGMAN from within system-manager and you find nothing
happens, you may have to press a key to get it going. This does not happen when
you run HANGMAN outside system-manager so you may prefer to terminate system-
manager before running HANGMAN (&... MENU A T ENTER).

Once you've got HANGMAN going simply key in the right letters and solve the
word before the 'poor fella dangling on the end of the rope has the box pulled
out from under him'.

You can change categories at any time while playing HANGMAN. At anytime during
your game you feel the score doesn't reflect your true IQ then press F9 Restart
to reset the score and startover again.



Editing HANGMAN.DAT

Although HANGMAN.EXE has 114 words built-in you may wish to add your own words
and categories to make it more relevant to your interests or even help you
learn a foreign language.

Using any text editor, you can add or delete words and categories from the
list. You are allowed a maximum of 6 categories and each category is limited
to about 350 words.

Using the following format for adding a new category:

       /Category name
       Word
       Word
       .                  Category names can be up to 7 characters in length
       .                  Words can be up to 16 characters in length
       Word
       /Category name
       Word
