How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 30.8 KB

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

  • CHEM.ICN → A:\SOFT icono, junto a su aplicación 200 B
  • CHEM.EXM → A:\SOFT aplicación del System Manager 42.6 KB
  • CHEMCALC.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 3.8 KB

No need to put README.TXT, CHEM.DOC, CHEMCALC.ATM, CHEMCALC.GCM, CHEM.JPN, PROJECT2.JPN: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 30.8 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy CHEM.EXM to A:\SOFT. It is a System Manager application: register it in App Manager with F2 (Add), giving the full path (for example A:\SOFT\CHEM.EXM).
  2. The 200LX takes 8 EXM applications at most. Check with F8 (List) in App Manager: an asterisk in the Status column means the quota is full and you will need MoreEXM.
  3. Copy CHEMCALC.DAT to A:\_DAT, where the 200LX looks for configuration. Open it with Memo and adjust it before use.
  4. If you edit a configuration file on the palmtop, make sure you leave a newline at the end: some programs swallow the last line without saying a word.
  5. The .ICN files are icons: they go in the same folder as their application.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

The author's instructions
2. Installation

Place the following three files in C:\_DAT or A:\_DAT.
     - CHEMCALC.ATM Table of atomic weights
     - CHEMCALC.GCM Table of atomic weights for GCMS
     - CHEMCALC.DAT List of Abbreviations for molecular
                     formulae

Add CHEM.EXM to the Application Manager or to MoreEXM.
(MoreEXM is a freeware utility, created by Mr.Hiroyuki
Sekiya, to expand the limitation of the System Manager.)

Calculation history is stored in CHEMCALC.HIS, automatically
created in C:\_DAT or A:\_DAT. Current setup is stored in
  CHEMCALC.ENV in the same directory.

Note to the users of previous versions:
The history file CHEMCALC.HIS and the environmental file
CHEMCALC.ENV of Ver.3.00 and earlier cannot be used with
this version and should be deleted before installation.
Other files, from Ver.2.01 and higher, is compatible with
    this version.

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
