How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 15.7 KB

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

  • TOPCARD.EXM → A:\SOFT aplicación del System Manager 2.8 KB
  • TOPVIEW.EXM → A:\SOFT aplicación del System Manager 2.5 KB

No need to put TOPCARD.TXT, MAKEFILE, TOPCARD.C, TOPCARD.JPN: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 15.7 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy TOPCARD.EXM, TOPVIEW.EXM to A:\SOFT. It is a System Manager application: register it in App Manager with F2 (Add), giving the full path (for example A:\SOFT\TOPCARD.EXM).
  2. The 200LX takes 8 EXM applications at most. Check with F8 (List) in App Manager: an asterisk in the Status column means the quota is full and you will need MoreEXM.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

The author's instructions
[4] Installation

  Add TopCard.exm to MoreEXM. You can use any start key.
  My recommendation is any unused key from [ALT]+[1] to
  [ALT]+[9]. You can change the key assignment by EXkey
  afterwards.

  The menu of the TopCard.exm looks better, if it is displayed
  as an overlapped window on the topcard. You should set the
  option of MoreEXM to keep the launched application from
  clearing the screen. Moreexm.ini should contain the
  following line, if you chose [ALT]+[7] as a start key.
          a:\bin\topcard.exm,7E00,1,TopCard

  If you are using JKIT (Japanese language kit), its LXJEX.SYS
  enables EXkey to recognize the current task. You can use
  this function to make the [MENU] key to work as a start key,
  by adding the following definition to exkey.ini.
          <JTASK0.EXE>
          {Menu}={Alt+7}
  where JTASK0.EXE is the task name of the topcard task.

  Please refer to the user's guides of MoreEXM and EXkey, if
  you are not certain of their usages.

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
