ACECARD3 - the large flash card driver

Version 3 · ACE Technologies

Download 14.9 KB

Description

This driver is needed for some larger flash cards to work in the HP 100LX and in the HP 200LX. If your card doesn't work out of the box, try to format it with the palmtop's fdisk100 and format, if this still doesn't work, try this driver.

How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 1.3 KB

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

  • Acecard3.com → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 14.1 KB

No need to put config.tmp, bigcard.txt: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 1.3 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy Acecard3.com to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

The author's instructions
Installation:

1) CONFIG.TMP contains the following line:

DEVICE=C:\ACECARD3.COM /SDP

Use MEMO to add this line to the active CONFIG.SYS file located on the C drive.

Important Notes:

a) If you have a 32, 64, or 96 Meg C drive, then add this line to the end of your CONFIG.SYS file on your F drive (not C drive).

b) Since your palmtop will not recognize your large memory card until the driver has been installed, you cannot store the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files on your large memory card in the A drive.

Literal excerpt from bigcard.txt, exactly as it came in the package.

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
