Version 1.4 · Arthur Helwig and Max Loewenthal

Download 132.4 KB

Description

SECUREDEVICE is a device driver that will help you keep your private data private. It creates extra drives on your system that are accessible just like normal disk drives, but everything you transfer to the volume will be encrypted using the IDEA encryption algorithm, and when you transfer data from the volume it will be automatically decrypted. Warning: This program uses strong encryption to protect data and it is not legal for individuals outside the USA to download it. If you do so, you may be breaking US law. Copyright GNU GPL.

  • LOGIN.COM → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 17.1 KB
  • LOGOUT.COM → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 7.4 KB

  • SDTSR.COM → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 5.8 KB
  • SECDEV.SYS → A:\SOFT driver, necesita línea en CONFIG.SYS 6.8 KB

No need to put SECDEV.DOC, HISTORY, COPYING, SECSRC14.ZIP: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 105.7 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. SECDEV.SYS is a driver: add DEVICE=A:\SOFT\SECDEV.SYS to C:\CONFIG.SYS and reboot with Ctrl+Alt+Del.
  2. Copy CHPASS.COM, LOGIN.COM, LOGOUT.COM, MKVOLUME.COM to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
