How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 63.7 KB

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

  • GENERAL.CFG → A:\_DAT configuración 126 B
  • MPP.EXE → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 61.1 KB
  • MPP.INI → A:\_DAT configuración 198 B
  • NOVICE.CFG → A:\_DAT configuración 126 B
  • EXTRA.CFG → A:\_DAT configuración 126 B

No need to put USERMAN.TXT, NOVICE1.TXT, NOVICE10.TXT, NOVICE2.TXT, NOVICE3.TXT, NOVICE4.TXT, NOVICE5.TXT, NOVICE6.TXT and 16 more: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 63.7 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy MPP.EXE to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.
  2. Copy GENERAL.CFG, MPP.INI, NOVICE.CFG, EXTRA.CFG to A:\_DAT, where the 200LX looks for configuration. Open it with Memo and adjust it before use.
  3. If you edit a configuration file on the palmtop, make sure you leave a newline at the end: some programs swallow the last line without saying a word.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

The author's instructions
To install the program on the hard disk, copy all files from the floppy
disk to the desired subdirectory.

button or press the ALT key along with the highlighted letter in the option
name.

To send code, press F2 to go to the Practice Screen, select the sending
mode, and press F8.

To exit from the program, press F10.

Full instructions on the use of the program are found in the file
USERMAN.TXT which is set up to be printed on any standard ASCII printer.

I would like to thank Barry Cruise, KI3K, for the time he spent testing
early versions of the program and for all the helpful suggestions (most of
which were implemented) that he offered. Thanks also go to Rolf Jespersen,
N3LA, for all his input and suggestions. Also thank you to anyone else who
offered suggestions for features in the program.

I would be interested in hearing any comments or suggestions you may
have or any problems you encounter in using the program. I hope you find
it useful.

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
