Description

User's Guide KeyM - Key Map for EXM programs Rev 0.34 96-09-05 CARGO JBC01207@niftyserve.or.jp 1. What is KeyM? Thanks to utilities such as MoreEXM and SMMx, the limitation of EXM applications on AppManager was now overcome. You can register as many applications as you like. I use a lot of freewares -- too many to remember which key is for which program. (Am I alone?) KeyM is a tiny program which displays a list of Hot Keys for those of us, who has no brilliant memory. From rev 0.23, KeyM learned to launch an EXM program selected by cursor key.

Description extracted automatically from the documentation inside the package: this entry was not in the original catalogue.

How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 9.6 KB

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

  • KEYM.EXM → A:\SOFT aplicación del System Manager 13.2 KB
  • KEYM.ICN → A:\SOFT icono, junto a su aplicación 200 B
  • KEYM.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 109 B

No need to put KEYM.DOC: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 9.6 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy KEYM.EXM to A:\SOFT. It is a System Manager application: register it in App Manager with F2 (Add), giving the full path (for example A:\SOFT\KEYM.EXM).
  2. The 200LX takes 8 EXM applications at most. Check with F8 (List) in App Manager: an asterisk in the Status column means the quota is full and you will need MoreEXM.
  3. Copy KEYM.DAT to A:\_DAT, where the 200LX looks for configuration. Open it with Memo and adjust it before use.
  4. If you edit a configuration file on the palmtop, make sure you leave a newline at the end: some programs swallow the last line without saying a word.
  5. The .ICN files are icons: they go in the same folder as their application.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

KeyM also reads C:\_DAT\SETUP.ENV and displays the labels of
System Macro in columns Fn + F1 to F10.

Key remapping by EXKey is also considered by KeyM (From Rev.
0.09). An EXKey definition file located at A:\_DAT\EXKEY.INI
or C:\_DAT\EXKEY.INI is searched and the remapped keys defined
in section [100] are displayed with its description.
(KEYM.DAT should be modified to work together for this
function).

KeyM can handle following Hot Keys:

Ctrl + blue key used by built-in applications
Shift + blue key used for symbols
Alt + blue key some are used by HP200LX
  Fn + blue key
  Ctrl + F1 to F10
  Shift + F1 to F10
  Alt + F1 to F10
Fn + F1 to F10 used by System Macro
  Other keys max 36 keys

If you have defined key combinations such as Alt + 0, KeyM
cannot displays the name, but ??? instead. Please edit the
KEYM.DAT in that case to instruct KeyM about the names of
these keys. (Refer to 3. for more detail)

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
