How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 91.1 KB

No need to put GP.HLP, EPPPD.TXT, README.1ST, RED.DOC, REGISTER.TXT, TS.TXT, PPPD.MAN, SETUP.TXT: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 91.1 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy GPEXE.EXE, EPPPD.EXE, TERMIN.COM, GP.BAT to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.
  2. The .ICN files are icons: they go in the same folder as their application.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

The author's instructions
your setup *UNLESS* you've put your own changes into GP.BAT.

If you *did* put custom changes into GP.BAT, save it to a different name
then edit the GP.BAT from this release and add your changes to it. Don't
use the GP.BAT from an earlier release, the new one have changed slightly.

Setup
A step-by-step explanation of the setup process is in SETUP.TXT, please
  read it!

If You Run From System Manager
It's VERY IMPORTANT that you set up an icon with the following attributes,
do not use the DOS shell!

  Name: &GP
  Path: C:\GP\GP.BAT|300
Comments: !? (INVERT THEM, press FnFiler and Fn3 for inverted versions)

I can tell you for sure, if you don't put that inverted exclamation
mark in the comment field your connection WILL hang and generally
act very badly, as if your modem isn't talking on the phone well.

Performance Improvement
Once you have Goin' Postal installed, you might be able to improve the
performance as follows:

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
