How to install it

What to send to the palmtop saves 118.0 KB

These are the files you need. You can send them from the package contents below.

  • GECONFIG.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 614 B
  • GEO2.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 536 B
  • GEO3.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 302 B
  • GEO4.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 279 B
  • GEO5.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 714 B
  • GEOCLOCK.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 691 B
  • GEOMNO.EXE → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 95.1 KB
  • GEOMNO.ICN → A:\SOFT icono, junto a su aplicación 200 B
  • GEOZONES.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 6.3 KB
  • CITIES.DAT → A:\_DAT configuración 8.0 KB
  • GEOCONVT.EXE → A:\SOFT programa de DOS 17.0 KB

No need to put 8X8.FON, CGA.BGI, GEOMNO.HLP, MAP1.CGA, MAP2.CGA, MAP3.CGA, MAP4.CGA, MAP5.CGA and 2 more: they are manuals, source code or supporting material. Read them here and save 118.0 KB on a 1 MB disk.

Steps
  1. Copy GEOMNO.EXE, GEOCONVT.EXE to A:\SOFT. They are DOS programs: run them from the DOS icon, or add A:\SOFT to the PATH in C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT to call them by name.
  2. Copy GECONFIG.DAT, GEO2.DAT, GEO3.DAT, GEO4.DAT, GEO5.DAT, GEOCLOCK.DAT, GEOZONES.DAT, CITIES.DAT to A:\_DAT, where the 200LX looks for configuration. Open it with Memo and adjust it before use.
  3. If you edit a configuration file on the palmtop, make sure you leave a newline at the end: some programs swallow the last line without saying a word.
  4. The .ICN files are icons: they go in the same folder as their application.

Derived from the package contents and the 200LX conventions. It installs to A: on purpose: C: is a RAM disk and every byte there is memory taken from the system.

Send to my palmtop

The palmtop must be waiting before you press the button, or the transfer will fail. It is the palmtop that announces it is ready, not the other way round.
